Trinity College London, established in 1872, is a leading international exam board, publisher and independent education charity.
With over 850,000 candidates a year in more than 60 countries worldwide, Trinity qualifications are specifically designed to help students progress.
Trinity’s aim is to inspire teachers and learners through the creation of assessments that are enjoyable to prepare for and rewarding to teach. Preparation for Trinity’s exams focuses on the development of authentic communicative skills and on building the confidence to use English in real life in the 21st century to perform in today's interconnected world.
The range of qualifications cover every stage of learning, from beginner to advanced, offering two skills oral assessments (GESE) and four skills reading, writing, speaking and listening assessments (ISE) as well as young learner awards (Trinity Stars Awards).
Candidates typically range from school children and college students to mature learners wanting to improve their English for study, travel, employment or immigration purposes. Trinity’s exams assess a range of speaking and listening skills and test what a candidate can actually do, rather than just what they know.

At English Language Centre we offer the following exams:

Graded Examinations in Spoken English

GESE is available for learners of all ages from beginners to advanced at 12 levels. Grades 1–12 (pre-A1–C2 CEFR levels) assess English speaking and listening skills. Grouped by development stage, GESE exams offer a progressive framework for the development of English language skills and an assessment for every learner.

Integrated Skills in English

ISE is a four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) qualification, aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR) and recognized by governments and institutions around the world. Available in 6 levels: ISE A1, ISE F, ISE I, ISE II, ISE III, ISE IV (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 CEFR levels)

Trinity Stars Award

Our Trinity Stars: Young Performers in English Award is designed to encourage teaching and learning English for children aged anywhere between 3 and 12 years old. Trinity Stars is a group award for young students who are starting to learn English through fun activities and games. These awards show how performance-related activities support learning, motivate children and build their confidence and communication skills. On the day of the performance, every participating child receives a Trinity Stars medal and project work undertaken by the children is reviewed and stamped in acknowledgment by the Trinity Stars expert. After the performance date, each participating child receives a Trinity Stars certificate with their name. Three levels are available: (Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3)

Required by universities
Trinity's ISE qualification is sometimes required by Italian universities as an entry requirement or it can grant credits; and is a requirement to participate in some public contests or it can increase the overall score where English language skills are necessary to win the contest.
Regulated by Ofqual
(Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation): Trinity exams are regulated by Ofqual and are evaluated according to the same standards throughout the world.
Valid for life
Trinity certificates have no expiry date. The qualifications are valid for life as robust evidence of achievement at the time of assessment.
